George Hicks Regional Park is a 2.5 ha park located in Valemount along Swift Creek. This is the upper reaches of the longest Chinook salmon migration in the world. From late July to mid September this is a very good spot to watch the Chinook Spawning. There is a short trail along the stream as well as a viewing bridge. The Salmon enter the Fraser at the mouth of the river in Vancouver and make there way 800 miles to the Mclennan River and finally into Swift creek. Facilities include bus parking, an information kiosk, picnic tables and toilet facilities.
