#3 Packsaddle Creek Loop

This 6 km loop has a moderate elevation gain of 500' ( 150 meters) Packsaddle creek can turn into a raging torent in the spring. This is a very nice hike at any time of the year. Most of the pictures below were taken in October or later. There is a lot to see on this 6 km loop. 

Getting there: From highway 5 turn into town on 5th Avenue and drive to the end, cross the rail road tracks and turn right. Follow Whisky Fill road for 4.3 km. Turn left onto the Canoe Forest Service road and drive to 5 km. The Selwyn, Packsaddle parking area on the left, The trail leaves either from 200 meters up the main road on the other side of Packsaddle creek or the back left hand corner of the parking area and follows an old logging road for 1 3/4 km  to where the trails head sign is located. You will enter into an old clearcut logging area that was logged in 1979 the Packsaddle Trail sign is in the middle of one of the landings that was used during the logging.
